I am a physician. This person claimed to be from a state medical board saying that my license was suspended and I was a prime suspect for a drug trafficking ring where my name and DEA number had been used. I was told I was wanted by the FBI, that my license was going to be suspended, and I needed to cooperate with them to clear myself. It was a very sophisticated and elaborate ruse. Eventually they convinced me that I’d been an iden**ties theft victim and they were going to help clear me. For that, they needed to protect my accounts and could only do so by my sending them my account numbers. Yeah, right.
