1-877-448-9544" on a check for a nominal amt of $7.97. The check is ALLEGEDLY from Progressive Max Insurance Co., and has my car insurance account # on it. Calling that # is NOT PNC BANK. It's some guy who tells me "they" discovered a "mistaken" miscalculation resulting in me being overcharged the 7.95. I've insured my cars for over 40 yrs, 7 of them with Progressive, and none of the different ins co's I've used has ever randomly sent me a check, they've just credited my next installment payment or my account if I was overcharged, and I'venever receivedanything from Progressive before. I'm not cashing a check that has some rando personal landline # posing as an ACTUAL BANK PH # into my account so when it bounces whoever that guy was that i talked to will have my bank account info. And copy of my SIGNATURE when he views MY check deposited into his God knows what pretend "I'm Progressive Ins. Co." bank account on HIS computer screen...Screw THAT!
