This number claimed to be a Microsoft technician by the name of Karen Carr. She claimed my computer had been infected by a Trojan Horse virus when I received a pop-up message supposedly from Microsoft that my computer had been locked up and to call the number given and not turn off the computer. She proceeded to install software to shadow my computer and asked me to call my bank to report a security threat. She asked for the bank number and proceeded to connect me to the bank because she claimed my phone was compromised. The banker I spoke to almost convinced me to close my checking acct. because, according to him, there was a withdrawal pending for a large sum. He tried to get me to send my money to another bank to an acct. he provided and asked that I not share the information with anyone at the bank as this was now a fraud investigation. I went to the bank, spoke to an agent there and proceeded to take out my money in the form of a cashier's check for the time being. I have since investigated the number the supposed customer service bank teller was calling from, and it is fraudulent - 1-315-000-254. I got in touch with the Geek Squad and asked them to check my computer for viruses and delete any added software that could be used to spy on me.
