Yup, called me today with NO CALLER ID to tell me that they had court paperwork to give me and have made several attempts because of an outstanding debt. The woman asked if she could give my phone number to the person delivering the stuff. I said "no," and she told me she threatened that she was going to call my family and hung up. They did called my mother and brother and gave this number and a file number. I did not receive the file number. I called the number blocking my number and the name was Abbot, Dean, and **sociates. I looked up the website and it has a different telephone number, https://www.abbotdeanand**sociates.com/ I wonder if they got spoofed.
I went to https://www.annualcreditreport.com and ran my free credit report and there were no non-payed debts.
Claimed they were "National Processing" and that my name was given as a reference for one of my relatives; then claimed that they had a package to ship out to the relative and asked that I get a message to them to give a call back. Weird...
I got a call saying that there was a civil complaint about me and it was from a credit card I opened in 2013 and charged $1600.00 and never made a payment on it. First of all, I had never heard of the credit card. Secondly the man said if I paid $1600.00 to him over the phone the issue would be solved, if not I would get a summons to court. He said I would be served at my home address or my place of employment, which he said he verified (I am unemployed, haha). I think it would have shown up on my credit report if this was real, which of course it was not. I told him I was not going to pay him the money not even knowing what it was for and that I had never heard of this credit card. He said we will see you in court, yeah right!
