Strange security alert demanding a call back
Received SMS with the following message: “An Apple Pay transaction of $158.42 at the Apple Store was detected. Call apple support now +1(833) 869-7720, If this is unauthorized.”
Said Apple Pay used at Apple Store for $157.36 and to call the number they give for Apple support and gave a number that is not Apple support. Came from number 2135231689.
Receiving unwanted or harrassing calls from (833) 869-7720? Report It! You can also add your number to the National DO Not Call Registry by visiting their website or calling (888) 382-1222, but many people have complained about it not being effective.
