Pretending to be Roku or an “independent help desk†who are just stealing credit info.
Circumvented my being able to connect to legitimate HBOGO.com/activate on my ROKU. They have a link that is a “believable link†which gives the impression you are speaking with ROKU. The representative goes through the steps to activate the channel after which he tells me I will be charged $39.95! I know for a fact that there are no charges for streaming the premium channels if you are already subscribe to them with your cable provider. Case in point, I have access to said channels on my Amazon Firestick without ever being charged for activation.
They claim they are from Roku and are needing card information to charge $60 just for a set up when Roku doesn’t charge to set up
