They were representing themselves as fraud investigators from Citibank. They didn’t want me to close my account but to help them in a sting operation to catch the person who they said had cloned my card. They wanted to put $5,000 charge on my card, go to a Citibank today and fill out a check. Don’t have all the details of how they were trying to pull off this scam. They were going to call me this morning since the banks had already closed for the day
I immediately contact the real Citibank fraud division and cancelled my card along with blocking their phone numbers.
