This was a recorded message saying, “This is the Social Security Administration. A fraudulent action has been committed using your social security number. Press 1 to speak with an officer.†I know that the Social Security Administration does not make phone calls; they would contact me by mail if there were a problem. Plus, the phone number they used was a local landline number, not the Social Security Administration. I did not talk with a live human being. I am certain they were phishing for personal information.
