From the Beavery County PA Sherrif's Office:nWe received a phone call from a citizen who stated that an individual calling himself "Deputy Smith" from the "Beaver County Sheriff's Office in Pennsylvania" called him in reference to his DNA being compromised. The so-called deputy advised the citizen that he was in violation of the Meghan's Law and gave him instructions to remedy the situation. The phone number the faux deputy used was 724-936-1660.n***Be advised that we do not have a Deputy Smith, the number being used is a cellular device not owned by our office, and the caller is not a law enforcement officer.***nEvery single day, people are coming up with new ways to scam others. This citizen was smart and told the caller he was hanging up and calling our office to confirm.
