This person had an ad on craigslist for a puppy. Over a 4 to 5 day period, we texted back-and-forth. The person wanted me to put a down payment on this puppy to hold it. I then said I would drive out to pick up the puppy. She/he still insisted on a down payment be sent ahead of time. I texted the person to let them know I was on my way to pick up the puppy and that I needed an address. Suddenly, all evidence of text messaging disappeared on my phone. I had the number written down and that’s the only way I could reference it. I have a friend who fell for a similar scam and lost almost $700. If anything can be done, I will make myself available for any **sistance in the matter. Thank you in advance for your attention.
