**sociated with bogus Microsoft virus alert
hORRIBLE. This was the number they said I had to call to un-hijack my computer, or else horrible nasty thing would happen to my computer & me. I call to screaM AT THEM. Then I hard started my computer, deleted the browser I's been using, then reloaded the browser. What a h**sle on a really dire day. I am trying to be caretaker to my husband and is in hospice, who had a bad fall yesterday, is now completely bedridden, and no doing at all well. I cannot believe how heartless these kind of criminals are, and I hope Southwestern pulls the plug on them.
Got the same message. Found the number was listed in Pittsburg, Kansas to a landline and opted not to call it. So glad I didn't call. It is Phishing and makes me so mad that things like this can exist. How many older people would fall for the scam and call the number so that the problem can be fixed when in fact they are allowing their computer to be hacked!
This number was listed as a contact for a computer problem that appeared to be a computer lock-up ransom scheme.
Odd that Microsoft is running Windows Security out of Pittsburg, KS. Beware.
Claims to be Microsoft support. Phishing or worse
Possible phishing expedition using Windows Defender screens to warn of computer trojan.
