A man, David Roam, says he was a public defender for my son. He told me my son was arrested for drunk driving and causing an accident with a pregnant woman who was having miscarriage due to the accident. Bail was set at $95,000.00 and I would need $9500.00 in cash to pay for bail. He told me he would have someone from the bail company pick it up. Also he told me to not tell the bank what it was for. He said lie to them. That is when I thought it was a scam.
This started when I received a call from my son, 51, crying about being arrested for drunk driving and causing an accident.
After the so called lawyer told me to lie I called my son but no answer. I called his business phone and he answered. He was on a job working. I knew then for sure it was a scam.
The lawyer called me back and gave me instructions on who and how someone would be at my house top pick up the money. At that point I let him know I knew this was a scam and told him what I thought of him. He threatened me whit bodily harm and called me a ***king dago. Said he would be at my house in 15 minutes.
After he hung up I made a police report and left it up to them.
