Left voicemail saying they’re from Morgan Stanley and to call back but left no other details like name or reason for the call.
Work from home scammer pretending to be Morgan Stanley/Cenlar Bank. Probably a work from home debt collector SCUM on behalf of many banks.
Received a message saying they were with Amerihome Mortgage Servicing Department. I do have a loan with Amerihome Mortage so I called the 877-276-5550 number. Yes, they also asked for the last 4 of my SSN. I had just called Amerihome Mortgage 2 days ago with an inquire and they did ask for the last 4 of my SSN so I thought this was legit. Then it stated it was a debt collector (which I'm not delinquent on ANYTHING). Got to a real person and they are wanting me to give them my name. I said to them that I gave them enough information previously that they should be telling me what my name is. She wouldn't go any further and said I should call the number I was given again - I don't think so! So now I'm pissed because I'm thinking I've been scammed! I start checking numbers and the number I was given to call back to, 877-276-5550 , appear to be a legit number for Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending. I think they are trying to get customers by poaching other Mortgage lenders clients. I hung up. This Dept of S & M Lending has a tab on their website for Consumer Protection and on the drop down there is an option for complaints. Believe you me, I'm complaining as well as notifying my mortgage company about what happened. Be careful folk. I cannot believe I fell for this when I'm ever so cautious about giving out any personal information and 99% of the time I never answer and block all unknown numbers.
