Called through a robodial that was ostensibly to inform me that some unknown person was trying to buy an expensive laptop via my Amazon account, and asked me via prompt ("Press 1 for X, Press 2 for Y", that kind of thing) if that was okay, so after pressing 1 for "No" I was connected to live human with a heavy accent who said that his name was "Officer Fred Williamson" and his badge number was 4957. "Fred" proceeded to not actually talk to me about what the robocall wanted, instead he asked for my name and zip code (I gave him my old one, good luck with that, "Officer".) Obviously some kind of credit/iden**ty theft deal, but it does provide me with a great excuse to close my Amazon account, other than not giving any money to Jeffy the Space Cowboy in the midst of his Oversized Post-Divorce Midlife Crisis that provides what is for him a great excuse to not contribute to the commons and act like a D&D dragon with a d***-rocket.
