Fake email from Geek Squad
I received the same email indicating that they were charging me for “my†annual renewal and if I wanted to opt out I needed to call them. I checked the number and found out it was a scam. DON’T RESPOND TO THEM!
This was a scam. I got an email, ‘supposedly’ from geek squad, saying my support plan was extended automatically for $249.99 for another year. If I wanted to cancel, I had to call the reported number. I called, was told to go to this site they gave me to download form to be refunded my money, as soon as I did that, my computer was taken over by thieves! They wanted me to put my bank information on the screen, I said no, I would check my account on my phone, this guy said no, refund won’t show up on phone, when I said I was not putting my bank information on computer, the guy about went ballistic, at which time I shut done my computer. The guy sounded like he was from India/ Pakistan.
