PLEASE STOP SCROLLING AND READ THIS! I just wanted to alert you all to an awful, heartless scam that just happened to our family. So my dad lives in Texas and he received a phone call this morning from someone claiming to be his oldest grandson (my oldest son). He said he was in jail for DUI, there had been a car accident, there was a pregnant lady in critical condition, and he needed help. He gave my dad a number to a "lawyer". My dad called the number and got information from him - a case number and a bail amount of $3000. So then my dad called me. IN TEARS! My dad (who never cries) was in tears thinking his grandson was in so much trouble! So I immediately googled the phone number he was given. SCAM. The stories are the same. Grandson in jail, DUI, call my lawyer... This is a scam to get money! Unbelievable! I felt I needed to share this somewhere to try and save others from such heartache. Please, don't ever give money out without checking the facts. Thankfully my dad knows this and called me. He was willing to help us out with the money, and had no idea scammers would go to such lengths. Parents, keep in close contact with your kids! I was suspicious from the start because I knew my kids would call me first. And please, tell your parents/grandparents about this so they know. The phone number my dad was given is 405-509-9078. All I had to do was type it into google to see it was a scam. My heart aches for my dad and the pain he went thru this morning. I am just so so grateful he called me first!

yes had a caller say he is my grandson who had a few drinks, was in an accident, and has a broken nose,in jail ..... gave me the phone number and case number for his public defender. These people have a Hispanic accent....explained to him my grandson is 2 years old,

A man called me pretending to be my grandson. He said he was having legal trouble and told me to call a lawyer, James Johnson, at this number.

Scammer trying to get money out of old people and asking for bank details and for money to be wired, p**ses himself off as Public Defender James Johnson asking for money for grandchildren
