Caller ID said Wells Fargo Bank. Call claimed to be in their Fraud Department. After supposedly blocking a fraudulent credit card application, they sent me to another “agency” in the US government to sign me up for Debt Validation to reduce my debt and interest rat on my other credit cards. Clever attempt, but scary tactics. Between the 3 “agencies” they sent me to, I was on the phone for 2 hours. They knew all my information and never asked for me to give them any. It was almost 9pm when they said they would call back the next day to finish my application for “Debt Relief.” when they called back an hour late, the phone number they were using was clearly marked Potential Spam. In retrospect, they sound like a Credit Counseling, debt, relief company, forcing business on people. Never did find out if I really had a credit card application opened in my name from WellsFargo.
