Called said he was from Amazon asked if I ordered something I said no and he said he would cancel it. Strange but a scam

This caller is a habitual unauthorized caller
They are calling claiming they are with Amazon and someone has charged a bunch of gift cards on my account
Got a call from this number stating he was from Amazon, wanting to verify a purchase I just made. I said yes it was me and he told me it would be put through. Is this a scam?
This middle eastern man called asking about an Amazon order for a certain amount and adding a CC ending in numbers that werent mine. I couldn't understand him, asked him to repeat what he said and I still couldn't understand him. Told him I couldn't understand him and hung up. Weird thing is I did order some things off Amazon today but I have never received a call concerning an Amazon order. He called back but I didn't pick up and he left no voicemail.
