A woman advertised an apple watch for $250. Said it was in mint condition and had full blown warranty on it. She said it belonged to her husband and they wanted to sell it for $250 cash. My grandson and I met her and her husband (whom she claimed wasn't getting out because he was not feeling well). So, my grandson who was buying the watch, my other grandson and I met them in the Chick-fil-a parking lot in Sugarland, TX. My college age grandson asked her if her husband's info, etc. had been removed and she said yes that it was ready for my grandson to set it up under his own Apple ID and p**sword.
Shortly after getting home, my grandson tried to set it up in his name and it kept telling him it needed the Apple ID and p**sword. In other words, they sold him an Apple Watch that was locked. We called them to advise of the problem and the games began. The next day, we went to an Apple Store and to Best Buy. Best Buy put in the serial number on the watch and asked the name of the person who sold it to us. No shock, the Best Buy computer showed a totally different name and since the name we gave did not match, he told us a Lucas Williams purchased it but he could give no further info to us. This crooked lady started texting my grandson saying she would give him back his money if he was not happy but then said only $150 because she and he husband had financial problems. He told her he wanted the full $250 OR if they were playing straight, they could unlock the watch. Days and days of texts have evolved into abusive texts including telling my grandson to take the watch, shove it up his anus and let them know how it feels. We plan to file a police report but we only have their two phone numbers but don't have their legitimate names.
