Received a call on my cell phone showing a similar number to my own but unknown to me. They left a message telling me to call them at the 248 308-1185 number and to have my gas bill in front of me. This is some kind of scam. When you call the number they still do not identify the company with their recorded greeting asking you to hold. When some woman finally answered I said I had a message to call this number. She asked if I had my gas bill in front of me. I lied and said i did. She then wanted the account number. I laughed, called her an ******e and told her I have propane and hung up.

I was having an issue with my consumers bill being incorrect & had called to straighten it out. Had been told by consumers a new bill would se sent out, allow 5-7 days. After that time had gone by, suddenly I get a message on my answering machine from someone named Anna, stating that I need to call them, with my bill in hand, to discuss my gas bill. Have been dealing with these people since 11/16 & have not been able to connect because the "agents" are busy & will call back. All this time I have been thinking I am waiting for consumers to call me back because I never did receive my corrected bill. Finally today, after being on hold & told someone would call me back in 30 minutes, I decided to call Consumers, at the 1-800 # & question the phone # that has been calling me, 248-308-1185. They say that is not a Consumers #. I voiced my concern to Consumers because this other "company" now have my name & my account number. Consumers said nothing can be done, as far as being scammed with just a name & account #, as long as I did not give credit card info, everything should be fine.

Left message on answering machine purporting to represent Consumers Energy with a question about Bill. SCAM!
