Claiming to be the California DMV telling me they are going to call me and have DL # and license plate number ready. Reply yes or no to receive call, I replied yes before I looked it up, blocked the number.
207-817-2209 was listed in a text message notifying me of a return phone call from the California Department of Motor Vehicles & asking for my driver's license # or license plate # , but its area code was in Maine. This look suspicious and if it was the CA DMV then their protocols are totally inept to use that area code in this age of scam/robo calls.
