I received a phone call from (202) 474-8177 at 11:04 AM on November 2024, offering me $36,000.00 that I could use to spend any way that I choose. The reason for qualifying for this money was not clearly explained. Realizing the sounds of spam, I hung up my phone. I called back the phone number from which I received the questionable offer, seeking if the call would be answered in a manner that would identify the name of the company, organization, or individual who made the call. I was surprised to be greeted with words like, "Thank you for calling back," and then stating my name. I immediately hung up as I was already exposed to questionable procedures from someone from that number. Even as I wrote this report, I was notified by my phone that I had a voice message pending. Upon checking the voice message, I discovered a message advising me that my call could not be completed to the number in question as there are restrictions on the phone number receiving incoming calls. The number was not restricted when I called the number back, and the number was then answered with my name.
