SPAM...SAY THEY ARE THE IRS AND FEDERAL CHARGES ARE PENDING. THEY ARE GOING TO THROW YOU IN JAIL.
Automated voice says this is the final attempt to contact me about a federal criminal offense. That I must call to speak with a federal agent at this phone number to obtain my case # for court appearance. Blah blah blah.
I received a call from a gentlemen with heavy south Asian accent, stating I was audited by IRS 2009-2013, he furthers to give a badge credential and very American name John Hillbert. He stated I would get arrested for fraud and deception. He asked for me to settle the amt 5,982.00 out or court. He transferred me to "IRS lawyers" and coincidentally it had the same background noise as if sitting next to the original caller. Very disturbing because he had some of my residential address history telling me that IRS has tried to contact me through mail. I told him the call seemed like a scam and I hung up. I have since received a few calls since form same people. I looked up online and seems others are having the same issue. I wish someone would lock them up for impersonating a federal officer.

You can also add your number to the National DO Not Call Registry by visiting their website or calling (888) 382-1222, but many people have complained about it not being effective. If there is something requiring an immediate attention, please contact your local law enforcement agency or call 911.
