My grandson has cancer, and I made a healthy donation to another charity for cancer research. Since then, I've been inundated by tearful pleas for money, up to five calls a day. I'd never donate to a telemarketer fundraiser, since most of the money goes to the telemarketing company, and am really fed up with all the information sharing between "charities". We are retired, and I can't save everybody or support every organization. Doubt there will ever be a cure for cancer, since the disease is just too profitable for the medical establishment. Don't give a check to any organization, particularly a politician, and if you can give something, stick a twenty in the Salvation Army's red kettle, as many times as you can.
