I received a call from 845-205-9221. A man on the other end said he was calling for the Homeless Vets Organization and could I afford a small donation. I told him I support the VFW and Wounded Warriors. He said the Homeless vets needed help and if I could give $15 it would help then he said he was putting me on with his"verification unit". A woman came on and asked me for my credit card number, at that point, I told her I never give credit card info over the phone, I gave her my address with no name and told her to mail me the information and I would send a check. Hopefully, giving my address will not cause me any problems. She said she wanted to save me the cost of a stamp and envelope to which I replied "I have many stamps and envelopes" and asked her to mail me the info. She then said goodby and we hung up. I don't know if this is a valid organization or a scam. I don't usually give any info over the phone and now wish I hadn't given my address. Need to find out if this is a valid organization.
