They call every day no voicemail it’s annoying

Blue Cross and Blue Shield sends out their customer's new insurance ID cards with a sticker on them saying: "Confirm receipt of your new card from your mobile phone - Call 844-206-0625. Terms and conditions at www.myhelpsite.net/bcbsma. Message and data rates will apply. Blue Cross has been applying these stickers to their customer's new insurance ID cards for at least 5 years. That was when I first received one on my updated card. I just saw one on my son's updated card. So they're still doing it. We've used our new cards without calling that number and they always work just fine. Why do they specify that we use our mobile phones? Why would I want to pay message and data rates just to confirm receipt of my new ID card? I Googled the phone number and learned it's used for fraud and scams. It also showed a series of complaints from people receiving robo calls. So Blue Cross is probably profiting from giving these people access to our cell phone numbers and heaven knows what else. When I Googled the URL, (www.myhelpsite.net/bcbsma), it said that there is no charge for using this number other than typical charges **sociated with your mobile plan. Thus the requirement for using a cell phone. I called the number from my landline and the recording asked me for my BCBS ID number, but said that this call is not necessary to use the card. So BCBS is covering themselves and if we use the number, we're likely to receive those robo calls that people are complaining about.
