This number calls my home at least 2 - 4 times a month. Triggers answering 'machine' (Non carrier device), and never leaves a message. All it shows on 'caller ID' is Hickory NC as if it belongs to the City of Hickory. I 'have' called the number back and it has a answering device. It does not identify who you have reached and allows you to leave a message. I 'have' left several messages (not yielding my name but their caller ID 'will show it'), and asked them to either identify themselves to me or 'stop' making nuance, and har**sing phone calls.
I have discovered recently that the local police powers practice this policy of making repeated calls that show 'blocked' caller ID, and not identifying themselves as law enforcement that needs to talk to you.
They use the pretext of protecting themselves by blocking number. I 'have' spoke to several and suggested they could leave a 'name' and message that a person needed to call their dispatch number (publicly available).
