Rec'd a cold call from this number on the afternoon of 07/07/18 from someone representing a police organization. He requested a donation (started at $15 then dropped to $10 by the end of the conversation). I persisted in my request for information that could be used to verify the validity of the organization on three separate occasions but each request was politely ignored. After the 3rd attempt to secure verification documentation from this caller, he politely ended the call. Not sure what to make of this but any organization looking for donations should be able to provide verifiable credentials (or so I would think). Suspicions raised, this incident has been submitted for reference purposes. Bottom line: I'll find a local police organization and offer a donation on the outside possibility the call from 512-942-5865, though poorly administered, was completely legit.
